Phil has been a consultant paediatric surgeon since 2010 with a sub-specialty interest in oncology, upper GI and thoracic surgery, based in Edinburgh since 2015. With previous surgical experience in the Royal Navy he's always had an interest in surgical care in low-resource and conflict settings and has been grateful for the opportunity to have worked with several humanitarian organizations in places such as Gaza, Ukraine, S. Sudan, Nigeria & Iraq. His gracious longsuffering wife, Deborah, is a GP and they have two teenage children who are growing up quickly.
