CONFERENCE VENUE

We are delighted to welcome delegates to the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, for our annual scientific meeting on 24th & 25th June 2027. The conference will bring together clinicians, researchers and trainees to discuss contemporary challenges, emerging evidence and innovations in paediatric anaesthetic practice, while providing valuable opportunities for learning, collaboration and networking. in one of Oxford's most prestigious academic settings.

Getting to the Mathematical Institute...
 

The University of Oxford's Mathematical Institute is located in the Andrew Wiles Building on Woodstock Road, within the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter. The Institute is easily accessible by road, rail and air, with excellent transport links from across the UK and internationally. The information below provides guidance for visitors travelling from different regions, together with details on parking and local transport options to help plan your journey.

Travelling by Car/Parking

Travelling from the North of England

  • Follow the M1, M40, or other main routes south towards Oxford.

  • If driving via the M40, leave at Junction 9 (A34) or Junction 8A, following signs for Oxford.

  • Use one of Oxford’s Park & Ride services if convenient, then take a bus into the city centre.

  • The Mathematical Institute is on Woodstock Road, about a 15–20 minute walk north-west of Oxford city centre and close to Oxford railway station.

Travelling from the South of England

  • Follow the M40 northbound, A34 northbound, or other major routes towards Oxford.

  • Leave the A34/M40 following signs for Oxford City Centre and Woodstock Road (A4144).

  • Alternatively, use a southern Park & Ride site and continue by bus.

  • The Mathematical Institute is situated on Woodstock Road, adjacent to the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter.

Parking - Best Option
The University advises visitors to use the Pear Tree Park & Ride and take the 300 bus, which stops directly opposite the Mathematical Institute on Woodstock Road. This is generally the easiest option for visitors driving into Oxford.

Parking at the Mathematical Institute
There is almost no public parking available on site. Visitor spaces are very limited and must be booked in advance, with a clear explanation of the need to park on site.

Travelling by Train

From Oxford Station, the Mathematical Institute is approximately a 15-minute walk or a short taxi/bus ride. Buses S1, S2 and S3, which stop directly outside the Institute on Woodstock Road.

Travelling by Plane

  • London Heathrow (LHR) – usually the most convenient option. The Oxford Bus Company's Airline coach service runs directly between Heathrow and Oxford, with frequent departures throughout the day. [maths.ox.ac.uk]

  • London Gatwick (LGW) – also served directly by the Airline coach service to Oxford. [maths.ox.ac.uk]

  • Birmingham Airport (BHX) – has frequent rail connections to Oxford via Birmingham New Street. [maths.ox.ac.uk]

  • London Stansted (STN) and London Luton (LTN) – are possible alternatives, though journeys generally require additional coach or rail connections.
