Philip Arnold has been a consultant paediatric anaesthetist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool since 2002.  Prior to this he underwent fellowship training in Liverpool, Toronto and Newcastle.  He has a wide range of clinical interests around the peri-operative care of children. This includes enhanced recovery of cardiac patients, peri-operative echo, and management of severe bleeding. He has given lectures and written widely on these subjects. He has a range of research interests, is the immediate past chair of the science committee of the APA and a section editor of the journal Pediatric Anesthesia.  He enjoys hill walking, climbing and other outdoor sports.
